The utilities and the CPUC are lying about rooftop solar. Here are the facts.
1) Rates are high because of utility overspending and profits, and the CPUC’s failure to rein in this spending.
2) When people buy less energy, the utility doesn’t have to spend as much. That saves all ratepayers money. It also reduces utility profits, which is what this is all about.
3) Rooftop solar saved all ratepayers more than $1 billion in 2024, according to expert economists.
