Stop Redding Solar Fee

Ask City Council: Delay anti-solar decision so public can give input

To be delivered to Redding Mayor Julie Winter and Redding City Council:

“Please delay your decision on the Redding Energy Utility’s proposed Net Energy Metering Successor Tariff. The proposed $10/month solar fee and cut to the net energy credit is a drastic change that will negatively impact the investments of Redding residents, and discourage others from choosing solar.

We agree that rates should be set in a manner that is fair for all ratepayers. However, big changes like the one proposed should be made only after stakeholders are notified and provided adequate time to review and provide input through a transparent public process.

This is especially the case given how important rooftop solar is to meeting the region’s energy reliability and resilience goals. Thank you.”
