Dear Assemblymember:

Please vote YES on SB 710 (Blakespear). California law currently ensures that a homeowner’s property taxes do not increase if they install solar panels. SB 710 (Blakespear) would extend the rooftop solar property tax exemption for another five years.

This makes sense because installing rooftop solar involves simply putting an appliance on an existing roof. It does not increase the home’s impact on public services. In addition, collecting and consuming solar energy on one’s property lowers the strain on the electrical grid and reduces the cost of future grid spending.
