Your solar panels are competition for the utility monopoly. In recent years, they tried, and failed to charge a solar tax of $700/year. Their goal is to make it impossible to save money from solar, and ensure everyone pays the monopoly, now and forever.
People are speaking up to defend solar
Over the last two years, more than 200,000 Californians wrote, called, testified, marched and marched some more against the utilities’ profit grab, defeating multiple solar tax proposals. This grassroots outcry defeated the Solar Tax and protected the investments of existing solar users, even as state officials caved to the utilities’ other demands.
