My solar company went out of business and I can’t find anyone to repair my system. Now what?

Solar is typically a low-maintenance investment, and that’s great. But maybe your inverter went out. Maybe you just want someone to check your system out and make sure it’s working properly.

But if the company that installed your solar went out of business, then we suggest two steps:

Step 1: Find a local solar company that will do repair on your system

Solar Rights Alliance has developed a have a tool to help you find reputable local solar companies that offer repair and maintenance services. Head over to to the tool, enter your address, and look for companies with the “Repair services” icon.

Step 2: Contact CALSSA's Consumer Protection Hotline

This service is managed by the California Solar & Storage Association (CALSSA).

This is a good option if you have been wronged by your solar company, or you need some advice on warranty claims and things like that.

If you don’t get the help you need, please contact the Solar Rights Alliance Help Desk at [email protected].
